About Me

A scenic view of mountains at sunset, with vibrant colors illuminating the sky and reflections on the water.

Hi, I'm Reese Gail, a rising junior at Charlotte Latin School (Class of 28). I'm on the Varsity Swim Team and swim year-round for SwimMac Carolina in the Senior 2 group. Even with my time consuming swim schedule, I am a hard working student with a 4.4 GPA.  I am taking the highest level of all five core academic classes and have been elected to leadership roles in the school Honor Council and Hawk's Lead Service Society. I am also a Junior Advisory Board Member for Swim Across America and Chairperson of the Fundraising and Recruiting Committee.

Some of my more recent accomplishments in the sport of swimming include making two state NCISAA finals as a Sophomore, including a third place finish in the 500 freestyle. I have multiple sectional and AAA qualifying times in both freestyle and backstroke, and am one second away from the futures qualifying standards in five events (100, 200, 500 free and 100, 200 back)  Previously, I swam in the state of South Carolina, where I was a three time All-State selection, and chosen for the Age Group Zone Team twice. I was a frequent State relay and individual medalist, the individual leader in points for our state champion girls team in 2024, and a YMCA National qualifier.

Personally, I am an only child with an adorable golden doodle named Renn. I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but have lived here in Tega Cay, SC since I was 5. When not in the pool, you can find me binge watching TV, shopping with friends, or wake surfing out on the lake with my family.

My Involvement

I am a member of the Junior Advisory Board for the Charlotte Open Water Swim to benefit Swim Across America. The event is October 4th and I am both raising money and participating as a member of the event day committee that is responsible for ensuring that both the cancer survivors and victims that are being represented are honored.

The event goal is to raise $275,000 and I am committing to raising $2,500 myself.

Lessons for Different Levels

With a decade of competitive swimming experience I enjoy teaching both beginners and those who are already swimming.

For those already participating with a team or in summer swim,

I specialize in specific techniques and ways to improve strokes and speed.

I am also able to teach younger, less experienced children safety in the water and the stroke basics.

Just let me know what you are looking for!

Pricing and Location

The cost of a lesson is $30 for a 45 minute private session. Swimmers should be age 4 or older and ready to both focus and have a great time.

I am very comfortable teaching in the pool at my house in Tega Cay, or a pool of your choice. Larger pools, such as YMCA locations are preferred if you are looking for a more technique based lesson.

I cannot wait to see some of you this summer!
